Abstract

Introduction. IGF-1R in breast cancer tumor tissue was shown to be expressed in large quantities in comparison with benign tumor or normal breast tissue. At the same time, IGF-1 stimulates proliferation of normal and tumor breast cells. The aim of the study. The study of levels of sex hormones, synthesis of insulin-like growth factors and their correlation in tissues of malignant and benign tumors in combined breast cancer and uterine myoma (n=36). Methods. Levels of estrogens and their metabolites: 2OHE1 and 16α-OHE1, progesterone, insulin-like growth factors were defined by the ELISA method in tissues of solitary malignant breast tumors (n=37), uterine myoma (n=27) and tumors in combined breast cancer and uterine myoma (n=36). Results. In the synchronous process the level of IGF-1 in breast and uterine tissues had a negative correlation with a content of estradiol (r1=-81, r2=-79; р1, 2<0,05), estrone (r1=-75, r2=-89; р1, 2<0,05), 16ОН1 metabolite (r1=-74, r2=-87; р1, 2<0,05), high positive correlation with the content of progesterone (r1=73, r2=77; р1, 2<0,05) and 2ОН/16ОН1 ratio (r1=81, r2=79; р1, 2<0,05). The opposite relation was registered for levels of IGF-2 and sex hormones in breast and uterine tissues in polyneoplasias: high positive correlation with estradiol synthesis (r1=79, r2=80; р1, 2<0,05), estrone (r1=75, r2=89; р1, 2<0,05), 16ОН1 (r1=89, r2=83; р1, 2<0,05) and negative correlation with production of progesterone (r1=83, r2=-79; р1, 2<0,05), 2ОН/16ОН1 (r1=-82, r2=-77; р1, 2<0,05). Conclusion. New similar in direction and strength correlations between level of growth factors and certain sex hormones arise in malignant breast tumor combined with benign uterine tumor, in contrast to the solitary processes, which probably play an important role in pathogenesis of polyneoplasias.
